Apple butter

Spread the love

I really hate apple sauce, but apple butter get a pass from me. Apple butter is more concentrated in flavors. I love to have it with toast and chia seeds.

I am APPLE-ly recommending this recipe for you to try

Ingredients:
10 apples
1 cup of white sugar
1/2 cup of brown sugar
the juice of 1 lime
1/2 tsp of salt
1/4 tsp of nutmeg
2 tsp of cinnamon
1/2 cup of water
2 tbsp of vanilla extract

Let’s get started!!!

Diced the washed apples. I am using about 5 pounds of apples. I chose granny-smith apples for this recipe. After that, grate the nutmeg. In a big pot, put the apples and add the spices, sugars, lime juice and water. Start cooking the apples on a low flame, until they have completely cooked down, as shown in the video. It took a long while for the apples to get to this point. About 5 to 6 hours. It’s an easy recipe to make, but it takes time.

Once the apples have cooked down completely, put them in a blender and blend until smooth. Then strain the puree to take out anything that did not get in the blending process. After that, add the vanilla extract, mix it in. Put the apple butter back on a low flame for about 30 minutes. And then it will be ready.
