Citrus ice cream

Spread the love

When I decided to make this recipe, I was a bit skeptical. I didn’t think the citrus flavor would match the creamy richness in ice cream form. Well, I was wrong because to this day, this is one of my favorite ice cream I’ve ever made.

When Life gives you lemons, make a citrus ice cream!!!

Ingredients:
1 cup of powdered sugar
3 tbsp of citrus liqueur. orange or lemon flavored
1/2 cup of a mix of fresh orange and lime juice
1 tbsp of orange and lime zest
2 tsp of almond or vanilla extract
2 cups of cold heavy cream

Let’s get started!!!

First, take out your mixer with the whisk attachment. It’s important to use the whisk attachment here because it will incorporate air into the heavy cream. Before you start, remember that heavy cream whips better when it’s cold. Put all the ingredients in your mixing bowl, and whisk until soft peaks. Taste the mixture to see if the sugar is enough. Remember, less sugar is always better. Then, whisk until stiff peaks, and stop! You really don’t want to overmix. Put the cream in a container and cover with a lid. Leave in the freezer for at least 4 hours, or just overnight. Use an ice cream scoop to serve.

Enjoy your dessert.
