Strawberry chia jam

Spread the love

I usually hate strawberry jam, but this homemade chia jam is a tastier and healthier alternative for me. Since I am using fresh strawberries, the jam tastes fresher. And this jam contains less sugar than the store bought ones, so I enjoy it better. Revolutionize your peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

That’s my JAM!!!!!

Ingredients:
1 pint of strawberries
1/3 cup of chia seeds
1 cup of sugar
pinch of salt
1 tbsp of vanilla extract

Let’s get started!!!

After cleaning the strawberries, put them in a pot with the sugar and salt and place the pot on a medium flame. No need to add water, the strawberries will give off their own juice. After a few minutes on the stove top, you can start mashing the strawberries to help them release their juice. Let the strawberry syrup cook for about 15 minutes, from start to finish. After that pour it in a blend and add the vanilla extract, and blend to get a smooth syrup.

Strain the strawberry syrup to take out the seeds. After that mix the chia seeds in the strawberry syrup. And let it set for about one hour. The chia seeds will expand in the syrup.

Use your strawberry chia jam anyway you would enjoy and jam.

Enjoy your food
