A vegan guilt free dessert to enjoy. In this sorbet the taste and freshness of the fruit chines through. So, whichever fruit you choose to make this dessert with, be sure to choose great quality fruit.
This sorbet is CHERRYFIC!
Ingredients:
2 lbs of cherries
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of water
1 tbsp of vanilla extract
Let’s get started!
Take the pit out of the cherries. This is the most laborious part of this recipe. Grab a chair and watch your favorite show while doing this. After the pits have been taken out, freeze them for at least 2 hours. Lay the cherries on a sheet tray in a single layer so that they don’t stick together.
Once they are completely frozen, make a simple syrup. A simple syrup is equal parts water and equal parts sugar. For this recipe, we are using a 1/2 cup measurement for the syrup. Mix the sugar with the water and let it come to a boil. After that, let it cool down.
In a blender, add frozen cherries, cooled simple syrup and vanilla extract. Blend well until you have a smooth mixture. Store it in a container of your choice, cover it and let it freeze for at least 4 hours. To serve just use an ice cream scoop.
